Abdullah Heads Awards List

KUANTAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi leads the list of 915 recipients of titles and awards to be conferred by Sultan Ahmad Shah Sultan Abu Bakar in conjunction with the ruler’s 76th birthday today.

Abdullah will be bestowed the Darjah Kerabat Seri Indera Mahkota Pahang Yang Amat Dihormati (DK).

The investiture ceremony will be held this Saturday at Istana Abu Bakar in Pekan.

PUTEH Kamariah Mohamad wants to see winds of change. Literally. If all Malaysians were to open their windows regularly, it would be a great start to improving indoor environment quality. "Sound so simple, doesn't it?" she says. "Most people don't know that their indoor air might be dirtier than outdoors." It's an ironic concept to sell to Malaysians who, over the years, have learned to take poor air quality outside the house as a fact of life, and to politely call it "haze".

Parliament House Renovation Ahead of Schedule

KUALA LUMPUR, Sun - Basic removation work at Parliament House, which started in December last year, is ahead of schedule and contractors are carrying out additional works.

The additional renovation includes resurfacing the tarmac parade ground with tiles, converting several offices on the second floor to a targe dining hall and building additional offices.

Most of the renovation contracted to be finished by late November has been completed, said superintending architect Puteh Kamariah Mohammed.
